Denise Wilkinson is Head of our Cambridge Agriculture and Rural Property team.
Denise acts for landed estates, farm owners, tenants and their companies across England and Wales. She is involved in all aspects of rural land acquisition, disposal and management including complex property transactions including renewable energy options/ leases ( solar, wind , AD and Hydro) This includes dealing with tenant farmers and the reorganisation of farm ownership for families and trusts. Her advice includes all practical aspects of farming and of rural property ownership, including property dealings for diversification purposes, tax planning and those relating to potential development and management. Denise also has significant experience of advising on grazing rights, licences and AHA/FBT tenancies generally. Denise assisted by members of her team acts for several significant land-owning charities including the RSPB and the BCN Wildlife Trust advising on all aspects of their property strategy and estate management.
Denise joined Hewitsons in 1985 and has been a partner since 1989.
Member of Agricultural Law Association and Member of the Charity Law Association Member of the Country Land and Business Association, sitting on the Derbyshire County Committee.
Denise was ranked as a Leading Individual in the Legal 500 2016, and was rated as an "efficient, effective and determined" Lawyer in the Chambers and Partners Guide 2017.
